These codes are what I've learned and come across with Artic Spas within the last year or so..
FLC= Pressure switch Failure
FLO= No Flow Of Water Running
HL= High Limit Trip (spa thinks it's over heating)
Prr= Temperature Sensor
FLC: Is and will be a definite Pressure switch failure. To find the pressure switch you must find the heater. The heater is a silver tube about 15 inches long 3 inches in diameter. Usually connected to the BLUE pressure line of pump # 1. Depending on the heater you have, it might be a T Style heater with a red cap or a straight thru heater. The red cap T style heater has the main power cord coming from the end of the red cap. The staright thru heater has a black box where the main power goes into. Along the silver tube itself, There will be a weird looking object about 1 1/2 inches in diameter, might be grey or black. It has 2 small little wires going to it, red and black but with grey insullation wrap.
Pressure Swtich
FLO ERROR: FLO Error message can be caused by a few different problems. Check the filter or filters. It might look clean to the human eye but might be dirty enough to slow down the low speed on pump # 1.
Pump # 1 has two different speeds, low speed and high speed. Low speed helps water flow through out the spa when you're not using it.
If your pump # 1 is just humming on low speed that means it just not working properly. It sounds like it wants to turnover but it doesn't. To determine if the motor needs to be replaced or not. Heres what I would normally do. While the pump is humming turn it on to high speed. Run it on high speed for 30 seconds and turn high speed off and turn low speed on...it might work or not but if low speed turns over after running it on high speed. You can just replace the low speed capactior. The capacitor is located in the black box on top of the yellow motor. Small capacitor for low speed and big capacitor for high speed. The white capacitors has two white wires. If the wires are brown in any way, the capacitors need to be replaced. After replacing the capacitors, everything should go back to normal, But if not then you'll need to replace the motor. But if you do need to replace the motor check out the wet end of the motor. Look for white residue, the white residue usually indicates that there is a leak.
Another problem could be that the motor is bad and blew a fuse for pump # 1. All in what spa pack you have, you might have the M-SPA PACK (BLUE BOX) or a Global 3000 SPA PACK. Both packs will have indications on what fuse operates what pump and so on. Press the button for pump # 1. If you here something click then it's not the fuse, but if you don't here anything click when you press pump # 1 it's definitely a bad fuse blown by a bad motor usually. Fuse for pump # 1 is usually the first one on the left..If you have a MULTIMETER you can check for continuity of the fuse.
Another case can be a bad impeller for the wet end. The low speed is running but you see no water flow.

1999-Current Hotsprings Serial Number
The serial number for the the 99-current Hotsprings can be found in the equipment compartment. (where the jet pump and things are located). Always in the front of the spa inside the door panel. Serial number is on a white sticker 3x5 inches. Depending on what you have it might look like this for an example..

The letter I stands for the model of spa it is. In this case it is for the SOVEREIGN.
The number 3 stands for the quarter of the year it was made in. In this case it was the third quarter.
Now the letter A stands for the year it was made in. In this case it is for 1999.
The xxxx indicates just a string of numbers I think its the number of the spa (not sure).
The serial number above indicates it's a Sovereign, made in the 3rd quarter of 1999.
1999 is the first year for letters in the serial number.

1990-1998 Hot Springs Serial Number
Older Hotsprings model has the serial number in the filter compartment area.
Depending on what you have it might look like:
DUL-xxxx, I/O-xxxx. X indcating the string of numbers after the letters. Usually it is 4 numbers longs after the letters.
Now the Old School Classic models start with the letter D..Classic model looks like a big dog water bowl fiberglass all around..
Indoor/Outdoor was the start of the new shape of hotsprings model
Serial numbers for the newer Hotspring Spas are located in the equipment compartment. Where all the jet pumps and things are located. (normally the front of the spa)

Gstands for Grandee, 3 stands for the 3rd quarted it was made in and 5 is the numer of the year it was made in. In this case it was made in 1995. So you have a Grandee, made in the 3rd quarter of 1995. The X's after the first 2 numbers are numbers to indicate what number it is. not important but nice to have.

First and for most...It's me Pep some of you might know me and some of you might not. If you know me, you know how honest and truthful I can be. So there's going to be no proof reading or editing of this blog what so ever. I've learned in the time of our needs, we rather do business with people who understands or are close to one another. Can't just have any Joe Blow come out and fix things that are broken. We ask around from our family and our friends. Word of mouth advertising always helps in getting things started. If a family mamber trust a repair guy they came across they will recommend him/her to another family member...so on and so forth. Thats what I'm here for..So I'm going to do Spa repair 101 only on Spas I know of and what I came across with in the last 11 years..But If I get too complicated or if things get too confusing. I do make house calls. I'm hoping this is a start too my very own spa repair business. I am just a phone call away to answer questions you might have.
